At Vivant Art Gallery, we are thrilled to welcome Philadelphia’s own American Queen TJD, also known as Tiff, into our creative family. With her vibrant brushstrokes and crowned words, TJD’s art radiates empowerment, resilience, and transformation. Her work is more than a visual experience—it’s a movement, a call to action for all of us to honor our journey, protect our peace, and wear our thoughts like a crown.
Meet the Queen: The Biography of American Queen TJD

Tiff, better known as American Queen TJD, is a Philadelphia-based artist whose bold, abstract works challenge us to think differently about self-worth and empowerment. Her signature style—crowns perched above human-like figures—invites viewers to treat their thoughts and dreams with the reverence they deserve.
TJD’s art is rooted in her personal experiences, blending social and cultural themes with her drive to spread positivity and motivation. She draws inspiration from artistic greats like Basquiat, Pollock, and Warhol, as well as cultural icons like Nina Simone, Lauryn Hill, and Ruth Bader Ginsburg. Each piece she creates is a visual mantra, encouraging us to adjust our crowns, honor our growth, and elevate our spirits.\
The Crown Series: Art That Speaks to Your Royalty
American Queen TJD’s Crown Series is a bold reimagining of what it means to be a king or queen in today’s world. Through her vibrant works, she challenges the culture of idolizing public figures and redirects focus inward—reminding us of the inherent power and value within ourselves.
Whether it’s the hopeful vibrancy of Time Heals All Believe, the powerful declaration of Honor and Protect Women, or the radiant message of Speak Life into Yourself, each piece in the series resonates with strength, wisdom, and purpose. Through bold brushstrokes and crowned words, TJD’s work transforms spaces into sanctuaries of motivation and self-discovery.

An Artist’s Vision: TJD’s Statement
"My Thoughts Wear Crowns" is an art series born from the desire to redefine what it means to be a king or queen in today’s culture. Through this body of work, I seek to challenge the ways in which young people view themselves, often idolizing public figures instead of recognizing their own inherent worth and potential. Many young individuals place more value in the lives of their favorite celebrities than in their own journey, overlooking the power they possess within.
The Crown Series invites each participant to reflect on their personal goals, wisdom, and aspirations, expressing these thoughts through painting words on crowns. This act of creation symbolizes the process of elevating one's dreams, empowering each individual to recognize the strength of their voice, actions, and thoughts. The work speaks to the idea that with self-confidence, patience, hard work, and resilience, anyone can embody the qualities they admire, ultimately becoming a role model in their own right. Through this series, I aim to inspire a renewed sense of self-belief and to encourage the discovery of one's own path to royalty in everyday life.
The Art of Empowerment: Why TJD’s Work Matters

TJD’s art stands at the intersection of beauty, power, and purpose. Her crowns symbolize more than royalty—they represent the strength to overcome challenges, the courage to dream bigger, and the wisdom to honor ourselves fully. Each piece is a reminder that greatness isn’t found in others—it begins within.
At Vivant Art Gallery, we believe in the transformative power of art to tell stories, elevate culture, and connect us to something greater than ourselves. Like the works of Claes Gabriel, TJD’s pieces remind us that art isn’t just something we view—it’s something we live, breathe, and carry with us. Together, their work sparks a conversation about resilience, identity, and the beauty of the Black experience in contemporary art.
Crown yourself. Celebrate your journey. Let TJD’s art inspire you to step into your own greatness.
